— ABOUT US —
East Alabama Full Service Home Improvement Co. was born out of a massive, ever-growing need for just what its name states, a true full-service home improvement company in the East Alabama area that can provide homeowners with much more than what all the typical contractors have to offer, in every way imaginable.
The Problem
Nearly all contractors use builder-grade material from general building supply stores or lumber yards to simply replace your original builder grade products from the past with a product that while it may be newer, it’s very similar in material & design to what has already failed you. Because of that, contractors are notorious for lacking heavily in the warranty, customer service & hospitality departments.
All of that is by design. Builder-grade material is meant to be used for new build homes because the builder doesn’t care if the windows, doors, deck, patio covers, screen rooms, fences, appliances, etc perform well or hold their value 5-10-15 years down the road. They need something just good enough to sell the home that will perform for 3-5 years so that homeowners can’t hold them accountable when things stop performing as expected.
It’s called planned obsolescence – when products are designed & engineered knowing they will fail, so they make them easily replaceable. Read the fine print on most warranties & you’ll find that you don’t really have much of a warranty at all. You have more of a service contract after the initial failure of your new products. Most contractors can’t provide adequate customer service or warranties because of the builder-grade quality of materials their products are made from. They would go out of business if they tried to do that. Nothing against them, that’s just generally how the industry works.
So why would you want to put new “builder-grade” material in your home if you’re trying to upgrade from what you currently have?
You wouldn’t! As a homeowner, you don’t want to replace any of the above listed products with more builder grade products because they will degrade & lose their value (again), typically in a decade or less. What’s the point of that? You know you’ll have similar issues down the road… at which point you’ll have to make a choice to live with it, or spend even more money to finally replace it the right way.
Ultimately, that is a waste of time & money because your “home improvement project” was not a long term solution.
